TM1 Mobile Views
A TM1 Mobile View is a TM1 cube view fulfilling some TM1mobile conventions:
  • name prefix is m! (a small m with a following exclamation mark).
  • the view is using internal view subsets exclusively.

The view name prefix "m!" is removed when listing TM1 Mobile Views.

Create TM1 Mobile View
TM1 Mobile Views are created like TM1 Views through TM1 Architect / Perspectives. Open a TM1 Cube or Cube view, save the view as "m!viewname" - public or private:

View internal subsets
There exist two ways of referencing subset elements in TM1 Cube views:
  • view-external subset – belonging to the dimension,
  • view-internal subset – belonging to the view.
TM1 Mobile Views support view-internal subsets (as title filters) only. The reason is found in the IBM Cognos TM1 Interface requiring „Admin Privileges“ when accessing external dimension-subsets.

Check the properties window of the view (right hand, probably you have to activate it: top menu bar > view > check property window) for all used dimensions of your TM1 Mobile View if they are referenced by internal subsets (internal name = All). If not, change the element order or anything else (even element "dummy" changes like copy - paste - delete again) in the dimension subset through the view subset editor:

Don't save the modified subset, push the OK-button only and save the view.That's it to get a view internal subset (internal name = All).

Check the internal subset in the view editor: hovering with the mouse pointer over the view title filter's tooltip will show "Dimension name:(without name)". Okay!

Define only one row dimension for mobile use, please. Preferably, it is a dimension that you want to use for the drill down. Suitable dimensions consist of multiple levels of hierarchy / consolidated C-elements (tree structure), such as a balance sheet / income statement structure or the companies and subsidiaries of the enterprise group.
Columns
You can assign any number of dimensions. Columns can be sorted and selected individually in TM1mobile. This functionality - available without TM1 view adjustment - should be taken into account in the selection of column dimensions / groupings. A classic example is the combination of version (currently, plan, ...) and time (years, quarters, months). Of course, any other combinations are applicable.
Title/Filters
The dimensions you include in the title bar of the TM1 view are used in the same way as selection filters in TM1mobile.
